Expanding the AIoT Taiwan Exhibition, showcasing Taiwan’s emerging soft power
Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Cloud Computing & IoT Association in Taiwan (hereinafter referred to as CIAT), the number of exhibitors of CIAT has reached a new high even under impact of the pandemic; Today (21st), CIAT established the “Cloud & IoT Theme Pavilion” in “AIoT Taiwan” based on the four main aspects of “5G Edge Computing”, “5G Enterprise Private Network”, “IoT Security”, and “AI Application” to gather Taiwan’s currently most powerful industrial capacity and showcases Taiwan’s soft power in emerging cloud IoT. The exhibitors of which include 18 domestic companies and organizations such as the three major telecom operators (Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone Telecommunications, and Taiwan Mobile Business Solution) and Industrial Technology Research Institute.
In the past, Taiwanese manufacturers all sought to participate in international exhibitions aboard when it comes to “major exhibitions”, but such physical foreign international events with scale were cancelled one after another this year due to impact of the pandemic; thus, the AIoT Taiwan exhibition became the most important international information and communications technology event with physical exhibition at home before the end of this year under successful epidemic prevention measures. Under active support of its members and the effort of connecting upstream and downstream supply chain members by the three major 5G telecom operators and Industrial Technology Research Institute, CIAT jointly exhibit therewith four major types of cloud IoT enterprise applications such as “AI application”, “5G Enterprise Private Network”, “5G Edge Computing” and “IoT Security” to provide visitors with the opportunity to experience first-hand communication technology that combines software, hardware, AI and big data analysis, hoping to jointly create and build robust soft power in Taiwan to move towards broader international market in the future.
CIAT’s “Cloud & IoT Theme Pavilion” showcased highlights of the joint research and development efforts of various industry leaders and domestic and foreign members of CIAT, including:
- AI Application: Chunghwa Telecom led the exhibition of 5G Internet of Vehicles and AI Eagle Eye technology in law enforcement technology. AI Eagle Eye technology is the result of recent collaboration between Chunghwa Telecom and police and government agencies, which is equipped with inter-zone speed measurement, red line illegal parking, red light running, license plate recognition, AR glasses random inspection and other items with recognition rate of over 97% which effectively improve safety and reduce car accidents. Contents of the 5G Internet of Vehicles exhibition is the collaboration between Chunghwa Telecom, Kingwaytek Technology and Tamshui Bus, which used massive AI technology to predict signal data ahead, identify whether there is pedestrian or traffic accident, notify the vehicles behind to slow down in advance, and improve safety of self-driving cars. It is currently applied on the self-driving cars in Danhai New Town, New Taipei City as the first long-term self-driving public transit system.
- 5G Enterprise Private Network: Far EasTone Telecommunications led this exhibition, focusing on the passenger safety detection technology application on self-driving buses. In the future, bus operators can build their own 5G corporate private networks, using image analysis technology to detect whether passengers on the self-driving bus may fall and send warning signals in real time to reduce passenger falling accidents from occurring. It also exhibited the use of 5G enterprise private network in smart traffic management by providing AI image recognition and cloud IoT technology to detect illegal lane changes, illegal temporary parking, etc., reduce accident occurring rate, identify stolen car license plates, and improve overall urban safety. Participants are provided with on-site personal experience of the identification technology.
- 5G Edge Computing: Taiwan Mobile Business Solution led this exhibition of physical training services of children’s sensory integration. It collaborate with Umbo CV in collecting early treatment data for preschool children, including AI, specialized somatosensory wearable devices, AI image recognition, big data cloud and IoT and other technologies. The specialized somatosensory wearable devices can be used in any space; it can accurately detect and collect children's movements and behaviors even in low-light areas and use the low-latency features of 5G edge computing in providing instant alarms to prevent children from being injured. In addition, the content of its exhibition exhibited the integration of Supermicro and Kaori Heat Treament’s excellent cooling technologies with the “edge computing telecom server room server liquid cooling technology” solution that it jointly developed with Chunghwa Telecom, Chunghwa System Integration and Industrial Technology Research Institute, of which the Kaori plate heat exchanger for waste heat recovery management can reduce overall volume of the 5G edge computing server by 10% and increase energy efficiency by more than 20%.
- IoT Security: The Industrial Development Bureau of MOEA, CIAT, and Industrial Technology Research Institute have jointly set up the “IoT Security Promotion Zone” in the theme pavilion with 6 domestic information security operators, hoping to use the emerging IoT Security demonstration to promote planned resources and drive domestic information security operators to explore business opportunities in IoT Security. HwaCom Systems showcases industrial control IoT and IoT/OT information security consulting services; Systex focused directly at the axis of the exhibition by introducing safety compliance of IoT products, automated testing solutions and information security solutions to IoT companies; ISSDU shared the 3S subscription information security hosting service to provide a new service model; ArcRan shared 5G private network information security planning and smart manufacturing information security solutions for 5G environment; KeyXentic and Billows exhibited smart keys and active defense strategy solutions respectively. The Industrial Technology Research Institute also exhibited whitelisted robust security technologies suitable for IoT industry and provided domestic security solutions.
