Cloud Computing and IoT Association in Taiwan (CIAT) held its annual general membership meeting today (Dec. 8). In addition to inviting Vice Premier Cheng Wen-Tsan to present the "2023 Cloud Computing & IoT Innovation Award" and the "11th CIAT Acceleration Program Award", CIAT also invited Kung Ming-Hsin, Minister of National Development Council, Lin Jyun-Siou, Deputy Director General of Administration for Digital Industry, Chen Mi-Shun, Deputy Director General of Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration to attend the meeting with nearly 300 industrialists. In response to the global technology industry’s trend, “Everything of AI,” the demand for AI servers and AI chips is rising simultaneously. CIAT specially invited heavyweight lecturer Kung Hsiang-Tsung, who is the Willian H. Gates Professor at Harvard University, an Academician of Academia Sinica, and Principal of Taiwan AI Academy, to share his experience on “Distributed Computing for AI”, exploring the technological edges that Taiwan’s server industry can enter.

Cloud Computing and IoT Association in Taiwan (CIAT) held the "Taiwan-Japan IoT Business Networking Day" on June 1st. CIAT invited representatives from Taiwanese telecom companies, networking manufacturers, system integrators, and IoT device manufacturers with Japanese representatives to collectively explore how Wi-Fi 802.11ah could expand the IoT market through breakthrough connectivity technology.

The board of directors meeting of Cloud Computing Association in Taiwan (CIAT) was held on April 13th, 2023. The keynote speakers were Dr. Charles Tsai, the CTO of Delta Electronics' Information Communication Technology Infrastructure Business Group, and Dr. Shiaw-Shian Yu, the Chairman of the Technology Experts Committee and also the Executive Operating Officer of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) . They shared insights on the topics of net-zero carbon emissions and generative AI.

Cloud Computing and IoT Association in Taiwan (CIAT) currently has more than 180 member companies jointly creating the most complete industry chain in information and communication technologies. Member companies include Nonprofit R&D Organization, industry leaders in telecommunications, major hardware manufacturers and software developers as well as vendors in systems integration and services. Since establishment, CIAT has facilitated the Taiwan Data Center's structural transition as it pivots from hardware to systems solutions and software services, solidifying the industry's cloud system platform, which integrates high-level hardware and software. CIAT has thus enabled Taiwan to become the bedrock of innovation in cloud computing technology as well as leading the domestic cloud computing industry to the international stage. A very long industry chain is the unique facet of the development from IoT to cloud computing. In response to the needs of members, CIAT established Special Interest Groups (SIG) to focus on Unmanned Vehicle, IoT security, Artificial Intelligence (AI) , XR (Extended Reality) Intelligence Time-Space , LEO-based Satellite IoT, 5G IoT Application and Cloud Valley Incubation. The SIGs consolidate multi-faceted industry needs, such as relevant government policies, business models, and technological development, to arrive at specific policy proposals or joint development project proposals, while functioning as an important platform to study the industrialization of technology between legal entities and their industries. In short, CIAT focuses on the industrialization of technology and the promotion of systems and services based on a user-oriented approach, to stay ahead of the competition and redefine the cloud IoT industry chain in Taiwan.
